Las Vegas, NV - USA
We've been to Las Vegas a couple of times but usually a business turned road trip. It's not one of our fave locations, seeing that it's extremely hot and barren. We're more of the "green grass loving" variety :). However, the desert itself is spectacular and the strip is a sight you probably won't regret seeing at least once. If you can stand the cigarette fumes EVERYWHERE you go, the major hotels and their shops, restaurants, shows and other attractions (i.e. the white tigers @ mirage, the sharks @ Mandalay, the water show @ the Bellagio, etc) provide great entertainment even for those who are not smokers, gamblers, or drinkers. The dancing Bellagio fountains are our favorite. . .
June 2006:
Highlights of this trip was dinner @ Zeffirino's at the Venetian over-looking the Grand Canal and a wonderful summer thunderstorm. We were soaked to the bone by the time we walked the 3 feet to our car from the souvenier shop!! But the drive out of Vegas was awesome . . . sand storms, lightning and rain in the heat of winter makes for wonderful entertainment.
