But you wont get the full experience unless you meet up with at least a few fun loving friends!!!
Cancun was a spur of the moment trip we decided to take because @Ardith had to go there for work. I met up with her and a few friends after she was done. I was sick the entire time so I spent every evening at the hotel ordering chicken soup but I really enjoyed seeing the sights during the day especially Chichen Itza and Xcarat. This is also the trip where @ardith was nicknamed "dora la mondona" by Daniel for being so bossy and it's stuck ever since. - Ruthe
My advise for Cancun is to stay at a hotel on the beach, near the Hard Rock Cafe. That puts you in the center of all the activity. Dont waste your money on the all inclusive deals, unless you plan on just staying in your hotel. But if its your first time, you're gonna want to see the sites during the day (like Xcarat and Chichen Itza), then at night you'll want to go out on the town, and by the time you get back to the hotel all you'll want to do is sleep. So you wont be able to take advantage of your "free" food and drinks anyways. Also don't rent a car, buy the tour group packages. Its safer and you get to enjoy the scenery.
Must Do: The Underground Rivers at the Xcarat Eco Park in Playa del Carmen. Bring your swimsuit, rent your flippers, buy a snorkel, and explore. - Dora
