Ruthe here. I'm home sick today so I've been surfing the web, updating my facebook profile, and catching up on my twitters.
Twitter is such a great medium to get in touch with other travelers out there. We have "travel" in our twitter bio and we've gotten quite a few followers -- not just from companies like southwest but from actual travelers. I periodically go and check out the profiles and websites of our followers and have found quite a few travelers who have valuable and/or fun travel type things to share. @GoGreenTraveler maintain a website dedicated to "green" travel, @debohobo blogs all kinds of travel tidbits like a website to locate public restrooms, @TravelOTC gives all kinds of off the cuff traveling tips, and @travelzoo well that one's self explanatory LOL.
Our newest follower that we've reciprocated is @guysaroundworld. Check out their website http://www.twoguysaroundtheworld.com/ - 2 guys traveling around the world (all continents except for antartica) on $10K for a whole year! They've just started this month but I love reading all of their updates checking out their photos. Mostly because I'm jealous and so living vicariously through them LOL. Of course, the draw back of following all these cool travelers is that you get the itch to travel which if you are sick or broke (like me @ the moment) can be a lil' depressing. :)
I might be rambling now but I guess my point is, "Get on twitter!" all you other travel enthusiasts. IMHO it's a great way to connect and learn from other travelers. . .
